My name is Dr. Vishnu Rumalla. I am a board certified plastic surgeon who
created Tarrant Plastic Surgery back in the summer of 2004. This practice
is dedicated to serving both the cosmetic and reconstructive plastic
surgery needs of the Terra County region and the counties surrounding.
When I take time away from my busy practice, I enjoy several hobbies. I
love to travel, particularly with my wife and children. I enjoy gardening.
I have extensive landscaping at my house, and it is definitely one of my
passions to spend some of my summer evenings and definitely many of my
summer weekends cultivating and growing a great variety of wonderful plants
and flowers.
After completing high school here in Harlingen, Texas, and graduating from
James W. Martin High School, I went to the University of Miami for both my
undergraduate and medical school degree. After spending six years down in
Miami, I found myself up at Rutger's at the University of Medicine and
Dentistry at New Jersey where I completed a residency in general surgery.
After obtaining board certification and general surgery, I went to Indiana
University where I did a plastic surgery fellowship for two years before
returning home to start my practice.
Over that time I had gotten a chance to experience living, of course, at
home here in Texas. Seeing what it was like to live in Florida, experience
the North East corridor, and even live in the Midwest. But throughout those
travels I learned that I loved the sentiment and the people and the
atmosphere of our own home here in North Texas. And coming home to serve
this greater community had always been a passion and eventually became
realized.
Growing up the oldest son of a physician, I learned from a very young age
that medicine might be a field for me. Watching my father enjoy his work
and become the extended family of his patients seemed like such a
privilege. As I got older, I found that many of my talents suited the field
well. Being a doctor, and particularly a surgeon, affords you the ability
to really interact with people's lives. I have the unique opportunity of
helping people improve themselves, restore themselves, and return to
functions that may have been lost by disease, age, and other effects of
life.
That opportunity to help them grow and improve is one of the great
privileges in all of medicine. Here at Tarrant Plastic Surgery, we are a
large team of physicians and other providers. But what's most important for
patients to know is how I am intimately involved with every step of the
process, from your initial pre-operative consultation to your follow-up
post-operative visits, you will see my face, and my influence, and my
instructions in trying to get the best outcome. I take great pride in our
outcome and patient satisfaction, and the only way to achieve that is
having a surgeon who desires and almost mandates that he is always involved
with your care.
We here at Tarrant Plastic Surgery understand that our patients are
committed to being their best, and in return, we should provide our best. I
have a hand-picked staff who is not only very versed in plastic surgery but
highly skilled in delivering the care, and I will work hand and hand with
them to ensure your results.
I believe there are no cookie cutter operations in plastic surgery, and
that each individual patient's treatment plan needs to be customized. What
I take great pride in for patients in their experience here is how we not
only carefully evaluate their options, but we do an excellent job at
explaining those options and finally executing those options using precise
and well thought-out techniques.
