Breast Lift with Augmentation Fort Worth
Dr. Vishnu Rumalla provides breast lift with augmentation at his practice serving Keller, Fort Worth and Southlake, Texas, which can help you achieve a bust line that is better proportioned to your frame, yet shapely and attractive.
One of the most common procedures women seek Dr. Rumalla’s expertise on is a combined breast lift/augmentation, also referred to as breast lift with implants. The effects of time, gravity, and pregnancy can play havoc on a woman’s breasts. As a result, many women suffer dissatisfaction with the size, shape, symmetry, and position of their breasts. Commonly, the breasts lose volume, begin to droop, and the nipple/areolar complex descends onto the abdomen. Women also lose their upper breast fullness and cleavage plane and are often dependent on snug, full-support bras for control. In certain situations when breast shape is relatively preserved, a simple breast augmentation may correct the problem. Often however, this is not enough.
- Mastopexy is the medical term for a breast lift. The specific goals of breast lift procedures include: elevation of the nipple/areolar complex, reduction of loose skin, correction of breast asymmetry, and improvement in the overall shape of the breast.
- Breast Augmentation is the medical term for enhancement of the breast with implants. Implants come in various sizes, shapes, and textures and can be either saline or silicone filled. During a breast lift with augmentation, the implants are inserted through the lift incisions and at our practice, are most often placed under the muscle.
The amount of breast drooping will determine the incision and the length of scar required to elevate and reposition the breast. Some breast lifts can be performed through an incision only around the nipple while other breast lifts require a vertical “lollipop” type incision with or without a scar in the crease. Some surgeons will not perform breast lift and augmentation procedures together. Dr. Rumalla, however, routinely performs the combined breast lift/augmentation on mild to moderate breast drooping, while patients with severe breast drooping may require a staged procedure with a lift followed by augmentation several months later.

Explaining these options and translating your desires and goals into a surgical plan is an important part of a surgical consultation with Dr. Rumalla. Patients will be thrilled with their firmer, fuller breasts and have a newfound sense of confidence in their look.
Breast lift/augmentation procedures are usually performed on an outpatient basis in our surgery center in Southlake or hospital under general anesthesia. Recovery from surgery is generally well tolerated. It will take some time for the implants to fall and we will spend a lot of time and attention to minimizing scarring and ensure that the scars improve over time as well.
